Course Description

The Certificate III in Drilling Operation qualification teaches the skills and knowledge required to work as a blast hole driller in the mining and construction industries. Blast hole drillers generally work under minimal supervision and undertake a broad range of skilled applications in varied work contexts, using some discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services or contingency measures.

The course includes:

  • Marking out drill patterns
  • Setting up
  • Operating and relocating drill rigs
  • Carrying out equipment maintenance and inspection activities

  • A wide range of projects such as hard rock mining, coal mining, civil and construction works
  • A large range of equipment and systems
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic and sensor driven systems
