RII30120 Certificate III in Surface Extraction Operations

Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals such as production operators working in open cut coal or metalliferous mines or quarries, who perform tasks involving a broad range of skilled applications in a varied work context, using some discretion and judgement in selecting equipment, services or contingency measures.

Delivery Method

Delivery is either at the workplace or by distance learning via the ACA Training app available on iOS and Android devices.

Course Duration

The nominal time to complete the qualification is between 12 to 18 months, but with experience, this can be significantly reduced via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or an accelerated pathway.

Individual units (equipment competencies) will take a substantially shorter time depending on equipment, location and experience.

3 Core Units + 10 Elective Units

Qualification Outcome

Upon successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a Certificate III in Surface Extraction Operations. A Statement of Attainment will also be issued outlining the specific units of competency completed to form this qualification.
